Chontales

October 22, 2016

Just because it rains and the clouds conceal the sun does not mean there is nothing golden.

There is no better time to see the Chontales waterfall than in the rainy season when it has not stopped raining in weeks. The Baru River receives so much water from the Puriscal Mountains that it overflows and builds a wall of water similar to SKOGAFOSS in Iceland. We are lucky to have seen this phenomenon. Even in a time where there is no sun on the dreary beaches, seeing this place moves me to tears of happiness.

Felipe, as always, came as close as he could get to danger to feel the force of the waterfall making a vortex in the middle.

Chontales with rain is the SKOGAFOSS of Costa Rica.
